Kyle Newman's custody order has been denied by a judge despite allegations that their sons are "at risk of harm" to ex-wife Jaime King.
Jaime King, 41 and Kyle newman, 44, are involved in a legal battle over the custody of their two children, James Knight, 6 and Leo Thames, 4, following their split. Kyle filed an emergency court order on Friday, May 22, requesting sole physical custody of their sons, which was denied by a judge. In the documents, obtained by HollywoodLife, Kyle makes a number of accusations about Jaime. Kyle says that "Jaime is a chronic addict and alcoholic who refuses to acknowledge that she has a problem, let alone seek meaningful treatment for such a problem", on page 8 of the documents. "Jaime has spent the past decade," says Kyle, in addition to two written statements from former nannies claiming to have "first-hand knowledge" corroborating Kyle's claims. Old nanny Jessica Crosbie alleges on page 36, "After my experience with this family and a lot of deliberation, it is my firm and unwavering opinion, based on the facts described later here, that Jaime is an emotionally violent wife and a absent, careless and incapacitated mother, mainly due to her extensive drug addiction. "
"In this case, James Knight and Leo Thames are in immediate danger of harm if they are removed from their father, who has been their main parent since birth, and placed in the unattended custody of their mother," Kyle says on page 11. of the documents. Kyle is currently in quarantine in Pennsylvania with his two boys, where he is legally allowed to abide by the judge's decision, while Jaime remained at his Los Angeles home. Jaime's representative said that Kyle's file was "another flawed and failed attempt by Kyle to continue his abuse of Jaime and to manipulate the justice system." She added: "Today, Kyle was denied any request for an emergency order and the judge granted Jaime joint legal custody of their two children. The temporary domestic violence ban order remains in place to protect Jaime. Jaime also asked for an emergency court order for the custody and return of his children to Los Angeles, which was denied.
The latest developments come after Jaime asked for a temporary family violence restraining order Monday, May 18, which was approved. "I have suffered repeated abuse from the respondent since the birth of our oldest child," says Jaime in the documents, also obtained by HollywoodLife. "Over the past five and a half years, the respondent has berated me, demeaned, told me that I am a terrible person and a mother," she said. also in the order, including detailed allegations of "stalking".
In addition to the restraining order, the Hart of Dixie star filed for divorce de Kyle on Monday May 18 after twelve years of marriage. Since the start of his forties in March, Jaime has been spotted without his wedding ring – including May 19 in Santa Monica – while Kyle has shared many photos of their children on social media.
