The coronavirus continues to hit much of the country because cities and towns in the Chinese province of Hubei, the epicenter of the outbreak, only allow essential vehicles on the roads. Airlines have previously canceled flights to parts of China and some countries have imposed travel restrictions. From Friday, there are 63,000 reported cases in mainland China.
There are four Overwatch teams in China – the Chengdu Hunters, Guangzhou Charge, Hangzhou Spark and Shanghai Dragons – and three have at least partially moved their players to South Korea to prevent the corona virus outbreak. The Hunters are the only Overwatch team with a full selection from mainland China and the team has previously indicated they would stay in the country before the start of the season.
In the third season, the Overwatch League has ambitious plans to organize a 27-week season in 19 cities on three continents. The rapid spread of corona virus in China has forced competition officials to increase plans for competitions that were originally scheduled to take place in Shanghai this weekend as the outbreak continues to develop.
The makeup competitions are held according to a studio in Seoul the competition statement, during the sixth and seventh week of the regular season in mid-March. A few games can also be added to the Seoul Dynasty home stand weekend the week before.
All matches are broadcast live on YouTube – the official streaming partner for Overwatch League and other Activision Blizzard features. It is not immediately clear whether the matches will be held for live audiences.
