SpaceX crewed mission is a ‘go’ for launch next week

The historic launch that would take NASA astronauts to the ISS from American soil was cleared for launch next week despite the coronavirus pandemic and the Departure of the agency's human spaceflight direction. It will be the first time that astronauts have taken off from the United States since the end of NASA's space shuttle program in 2011, when they began hitchhiking on Russian Soyuz capsules.

NASA and SpaceX confirmed they had "a very successful launch readiness exam" at a virtual press conference. Steve Jurczyk, associate administrator of the agency, told me they did "a thorough review of all systems and all risks" and unanimously decided that everything was in place for a launch on May 27.
