"We are inspired by people in towns and cities everywhere where basic humanity shines through when we need it most – people who serenade quarantined buildings; neighbors who provide food and medicine to those who cannot leave their homes; global outpourings of empathy and support for grieving families, 'Zhu said.

TikTok says their donated funds will help WHO carry out important work, including sending essential supplies to primary health care workers, ensuring communities have access to the latest science-based information, and accelerating research into life-saving treatments or vaccines.

Zhu concluded his blog post by encouraging people to listen and adhere to local government guidelines to limit the spread of the coronavirus. He said if people are advised to take shelter somewhere or avoid crowds, they should make sure it is followed.

Zhu also asked people to maintain hygiene and help each other so that health professionals can focus on taking care of those who need the most help.
